My personal highlight: Easy and comfy place to enjoy a homemade Neapolitan pizza with fresh ingredients
Recently I published an article on the 3 top pizzerias in Zurich. Today I am happy to add this new spot to the list. Arcade Pizzeria located at Birmensdorferstrasse 67 in front of the train station Wiedikon. Read more why this spot made it on my favorite pizzeria list.
Simple and genuine taste – Start your meal with some bruschette miste
The ambience at Arcade Restaurant is comfy and spacious. Simone the owner makes you feel very home with his attentive manner. Giulio is the Pizzaiolo that creates the yummy authentic Neapolitan Pizza for you. I love the fact that the space offers a view into the kitchen and the counter, where the pizza’s are created.
On the menu you find selected genuine products from Italy. Giulio shares with me the secret of real tasty stracciatella: it’s made fresh à la minute, by using a burrata ! The mozzarella di bufala comes from the region of Campania, famous for the best mozzarella in the world!
Their pizza dough uses traditional 96-hours of bulk fermentation, this is why you digest it absolutely easy. The crust of the pizza was excellent, not too soft and chewy. One of the best ever had in combination with the fresh tomato sauce.
Beside pizza you can choose of home made pasta, meat or fish. I had a very light and fresh salad with fennel and Sicilian Oranges spiced up with some really delicious seeds of dried fruits and extra virgin olive oil.
What to try beside pizza?
Next time I’ll be there I will be curious to try the “Raviolone with ricotta di bufala, spinaci”, burro & salvia or the Fettuccine porcini with truffle and saffron. I absolutely recommend to try their home made bread with mushrooms, it’s fingerlicking!
